About Jeanne Alexander, M.D.
Dr. Leventhal Alexander received her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley; her medical degree from Columbia University, and residency training in psychiatry from New York University. She is a fellow of both the American College of Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association. She has been honored with a number of awards, which have included the certificate of appreciation from the United States Army Tripler Medical Center for visiting faculty (2004), the "Top Doctors Award" by Consumers Checkbook (2003 to present), the Good Housekeeping Centennial Issue award of "One Hundred American Women of Promise" (1985), the American College of Psychiatry Laughlin Fellowship Award, and the J. Elliott Royer Award for outstanding contributions to Psychiatry by a community based practitioner, 2014. She is the author of many papers, book chapters, and was an invited author for a chapter in "Our Bodies, Ourselves-Menopause". Her expertise spans from ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders in both men and women to hormone related problems in women (premenstrual, menopause, pregnancy, libido). She has a holistic approach to wellness inclusive of but not limited to lifestyle, wellness, exercise, acupuncture, Qi Gong, Yoga, and mindfulness.
